By participating in the Viking for a Day shadowing experience, your student can engage in a typical school day.

Quick Facts

We are a K4-12, co-educational college preparatory Christian school founded in 1950. Our enrollment is at around 500 students. Our student body reflects a diverse ethnicity and culture. We are accredited by the Association of Christian School International, as well as Cognia (formerly AdvancedEd). The lower school facilities are on Spring Street, and include the gymnasium and new modular building. The upper school is on Broad Street, and has access from Spring Street. It consists of the sanctuary, annex, Lawrence, and Tucker Buildings.

What services are available?


  • Snacks for preschool and lunches for all grades are prepared by Aramark.
  • All-you-can-eat lunches cost $3.75 for lower school and $4.50 for upper school students and include the choice of two proteins.
  • Parents add funds in their FACTS Family Portal and students scan their lunch cards to use.
  • Aramark prepares all meals peanut, shell nut, and shellfish free. Many of our main dishes are prepared Gluten-free. If they are not, a gluten-free alternative is available. An allergy-free section is set up inside the cafeteria for those who are sensitive.
Before and After-School Care SalemKids Childcare allows for flexibility in drop-off and pick-up times if you're just running late one day or whether you need extended care hours daily. Prices vary upon needs. Transportation We have two centrally-located bus stops in both Kernersville and Clemmons. Prices vary upon needs. Summer Care SalemKids provides summer care for ages 4-12 during summer months.

About our Lower School

  • Our lower school consists of K4-5th grades.
  • Kindergarden-5th grades consists of two classes each.
  • K4-3rd grades are taught in traditional classroom setting and go to specials classrooms for library, computers, music, art, American Sign Language, and physical education.
  • Fourth and Fifth grade teachers team teach. Students enjoy spending half their day with one teacher and the second half with another. They rotate through the same specials classes as K4-5th.
  • Class sizes depend on grade level.

About our Upper School

  • Our upper school consists of grades 6-12.
  • Upper school is on a block schedule. This means, they have four periods each day, alternating classes on A days and B days.
  • Upper school electives consist of the following: American Sign Language, Spanish, art, choir, handbells, drama, school publications, teachers aide, computers, physical education, and weight training.
  • Beginning in 7th grade, students can qualify to enroll in the honors track.
  • High School students can qualify to be a part of our Dual Enrollment Partnership with FTCC.

What about students with learning differences?

We strive to meet learners where they are and take them as far as they want to go. That includes those who have learning differences. Our Discovery Center consists of the following:

  • K5-2nd Search and Teach
  • Exceptional Children Classroom K5-5th
  • Discovery Learners 3rd-12th
  • Discovery Achievers 6-12th
  • Resource Room for math and language arts support
