Blake Jones graduated from SBCS in May of 2017.  During his high school career at Salem, Blake made a name for himself in many different aspects of student life.  He served as the student body president, created and led an after-school RC club, competed on the swim team, and was named homecoming king his senior year.  Blake also enrolled in the NC School of Science and Mathematics and earned credits from there while at the same time maintaining the highest GPA in his senior class at SBCS earning him the honor of Valedictorian for his class.

After high school, Blake was accepted to both the Air Force Academy and the Naval Academy.  Following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Blake chose to attend the Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD.  Continuing to demonstrate a great zeal for knowledge and adventure, Blake has excelled at the Naval Academy and was selected to study in an exchange program for one semester at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO.  While there, he earned his Air Force Jump Wings and been able to fly an aerobatic flight in a glider.

During the summer of 2019, Blake spent time training in a submarine, flying in Navy fixed and rotary wing aircraft and taught an FAA ground school course to future Naval Aviators at the Naval Academy.  The summer of 2020 brought one more exciting event to Blake’s life when he became engaged to his high school sweetheart, Cassie Walker, SBCS class of 2016.

When asked what were some of his fondest memories of his time at SBCS, Blake responded:

“the most important thing I gained from Salem was a sturdy foundation in a Godly world view—not just from my Bible classes, but all the classes. I’m also thankful for how heavily all of the teachers and staff invested in me to make me who I am today.”
